About 2015 UTBEF

In 2014, UTBEF successfully brought the industry leaders in Silicon Valley and key opinion leaders from Taiwan together to share their experiences and perspectives. This year, we would like to continue the same spirit but focus more on how to bridge the gap between concept and startup for young entrepreneurs.

Such concept is driven by the belief that the more sharing of the entrepreneur dreams and the Silicon Valley spirit, the better we can improve the startup entrepreneurship environment in Taiwan.  Through UTBEF, we would like to provide a connection platform for the startups and small-midsized companies from Taiwan with Taiwanese American organizations, Stanford-Taiwan Biomedical Fellowship Program (STB), and companies and VC from Silicon Valley.

The proposed theme for this year is “Medical Device Entrepreneurship: The Art of Fundraising”.  Speakers from Silicon Valley venture capital firms and startups will share their perspectives on the latest trend for investing in the medical device industry.  More specifically, the insights on topics such as how investors evaluate the teams they would like to invest or work with, the “do-s and don’t-s” for medical device startups, etc.  These topics not only will reflect the current thinking in medical device, but also provide great tips for entrepreneurs like you to consider for your startup ventures ahead.
