Dear CASPA Members and Friends,

CASPA is pleased to host a high level delegation from New Energy Chamber of Commerce, under All China Federation of Chamber of Industrial and Commerce  whose top post is at the vice premium level in China. Members of the chamber are major privately owned companies in China, and they are interested to share their resources with CASPA and CASPA’s affiliated high tech companies in Silicon Valley. The delegation is led by Executive President Dr. Zhang Zhengyu  and includes its member company HTW China led by CEO Ms. Ming Li . Below is the tentative arrangement:

1. A small group round table discussion on Smart Grid
Time: 1:30-3:30 pm, Jan 10, 2010
Venue: Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, 650 Page Mill Road, Palo Alto, CA 94304-1050
Goal: To facilitate the collaborations between domain experts who understand the issues on the Smart Grid in both China and the US market and the semiconductor professionals who can provide viable solutions to these issues.
Co-hosted by CASPA and UCGEC (US China Green Energy Council)
Three leading experts in smart grid from UCGEC:
1) Dr. Steve Lee, Senior Technical Executive, Electric Power Research Institute
2) Dr. Chuck Wells, CTO, OSIsoft, Inc
3) Dr. Ed Cazalet, Vice President, MegaWatt Storage Farms
All of them have many year experiences in power grid industry.

Who should attend: companies or teams who are seeking partners to develop China market on clean tech related projects, or selling energy efficient handheld products in China.

About HTW China: HTW China is an important player of smart phone on the security market in China. The company recently started a thin film solar project, and developed solar based smart phone products. (See attached two files for more details about HTW China and Dr. Zhang). They come to Silicon Valley to find potential partners, to meet companies or organizations with advanced technologies, with two specific targets:
I.            Technologies that can lead to energy efficient handheld products;
II.           Energy related investment opportunities such as solar, Li-ion battery and smart grid, etc.
Other members of the delegation from HTW China: Li Jian, Vice President, Li Zhongchao , Business Developer.
