Description

Seeking a well qualified Data Center/Network Engineer in support of our Enterprise class, Santa Clara Campus Data Center. A datacenter/network engineer is needed to lead, or assist, in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining all servers, network switches and routers and associated devices in our collocation data center.
Significant support may be required for major install projects and an initial relocation and consolidation of servers & equipment.

Requirement

'Must Have' Qualifications for Success:
• Expertise with electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment including: high voltage gear, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and CRAC units
• Must have in-depth knowledge of data center management and planning related to power and cooling, both high and low voltage infrastructure 
• 5+ years of IT infrastructure experience with 2+ years of Data Center and server hardware troubleshooting experience (HP)
• 3+ years of Networking experience in routing, switching, CCNP level or higher, protocol analysis and monitor and management tools such as SolarWinds, OPNet, Ethereal, etc.
• Expertise with electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment including: high voltage gear, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and CRAC units
• Experience with installing and troubleshooting operating systems, networking equipment, storage devices and application software
• Must be able to lift devices weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work flexible hours; some weekends, overtime and potential on call work
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Technology, or IT related topics

Ideal Qualifications:
• Expertise with electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment including: high voltage gear, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and CRAC units
• Previous experience with Datacenter moves and/or build-outs
• Experience on networking technologies such as dynamic routing (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF), LAN switching, protocol analysis and network monitoring tool such as OPNet, Ethereal, SolarWinds.
