A three years of corporate social responsibility program called Connecting Sichuan was setup to rebuild and transform healthcare and the workforce in the province through the use of information and communication technology. This is a partnership among US MNC, Chinese and US government entities and local Chinese HIT companies. After three years of efforts, a new model of 21st century healthcare was delivered through ICT infrastructure, with an emphasis on access, quality and sustainability. The use of technology connects communities, rural and remote area in Sichuan gained equal access to higher-quality services in healthcare typical in urban areas. These transforms the healthcare services in the remote and rural area with the latest technology. Mobile health, e-health, telehealth and many other healthcare IT technologies were used in this innovative healthcare transformation.
